Regular Activities in Southern Shores:

Business Meetings:

Business meetings are where we get together to plan and manage the several events each year that we as a group have or sponsor. It is also where we get together to meet our friends, so come and meet us friend.

Our business meetings are on the 3rd Wednesday of the month, beginning at 7:30 PM, at Rabbit's Foot Meadery, 1246 Birchwood Dr. Sunnyvale, CA 94089. (Note: Rabbit's Foot Meadery is the new location as of February 2010.)

If you would like to request an item be added to the agenda of an upcoming Southern Shores meeting,  please email the Seneschal.

Tuesday Night Fighter Practice

Linda of the Lakelands has organized a new South Bay Fighter Practice, Tuesdays 7pm to 10pm at the Twin Creeks Sports Complex (969 Caribbean Dr, Sunnyvale, CA).

We are paying for the use of the site, so a small donation is requested if you can make it. Go in the main gate and head to the left side of the parking lot, there will be SCA signs and a gate for sign-ins.

Scribe's Workshop:

Hosted by Maria del Norte, past-Seawolf Scribe, 1st, 3rd and 5th Mondays of the month from 7 PM to 10 PM. Location: Rabbit’s Foot Meadery, 1246 Birchwood Drive, Sunnyvale, CA. We are opening this up to people of all levels of scribal experience. If you do not have any supplies, loaner items will be available. If you are interested in the scroll making process or just want to learn to write your name, please stop on by. For directions or more information, contact Maria at mfaul@eartlhink.net.

Calligraphy, Illumination, and Arts Workshop (Project Night)

The 1st Wednesday night of each month (except major Holidays) at 7:30 pm, at the San Jose home of Mistress Siobhan of Cloverdell, (408) 259-6841. (Call for additional information and directions.)

If you want to help your Kingdom... If you enjoy art and beauty... If you enjoy sharing... All types of scroll making help and information will be available.(Please, no children or pets.)

West Kingdom Instrumental and Choir Practice:

Instrumental Practice, Mondays 7-8pm
Choir Practice, Mondays 8-10pm
... in Campbell, near the El Paseo De Saratoga Shopping Center (which itself is at Saratoga Ave & Campbell Ave, San Jose)

The West Kingdom Choir welcomes all who are interested in period choral music. All voice parts and abilities are welcome; auditions are not necessary, and ability to sight read is not required. Armoring Lessons

The Crimson Forge has moved north. Armoring Lessons taught by Master Stephan of Caerleon are on hiatus until further notice due to the move. For questions please contact steve@crimsonforge.com.

Emphasis of these lessons are on the metalworking skills necessary to become a skilled armorer. Also included are many other lessons including pattern-making and Cuir Bouilli (both boiled and wax-hardened leather). Lessons are free to SCA members but donations are accepted. Other Fighter Practice(s):

Regular fighter practice is on Tuesdays at 7:30 PM. Unarmored fighter practice at 6:45 PM. Look for us on the grass between the parking lot and the tennis courts

The Fremont Tennis Center
1110 Stevenson Blvd, Fremont

From 880:
Take Stevenson Blvd east about 3 miles. The tennis center will be on your right, after the library, police station and soccer fields. There is a light at Gallaudet Dr. at the entrance to the tennis center.

From 680:
Take the North Mission Blvd. going north. Turn left on Stevenson Blvd. The tennis center will be on your left at the traffic signal at Gallaudet Dr.

Other Mists Principality Fighter Practices

Crosston Dance Practice:

7:30 pm – 9:00 pm. 1st, 3rd, & 5th Wednesdays. Rafael and Elspeth’s: 76 Park Essex Pl. San Jose 2nd & 4th Wednesdays: 116 O’Keefe St, Menlo Park Wear street clothes; clean, soft-soled shoes are a bonus.
