An Anglo Saxon Riddle

from Wulfric of Creigull

Busy and idle, fettered by rings,
I must gladly obey my master,
break my bed, stridently blazon
his gift to me a neck chain.
My weary sleep man or woman
often broke in greeting: these enemies
I answer, wintercold. Warm limb
sometimes bursts bound fetter;
yet he is pleasing to my master,
none too wise a man; to me too,
who has some skill and in words
may triumphantly tell my tale.

What am I?
