A "warlord list"by Euriol of Lothian What is a warlord list, you might ask? (And a lot of you did.) A warlord list is conducted as follows. Fighters are matched up for the first round; then these two fighters become a team with the winner of the fight becoming the captain of the team. Teams are matched up with the winning captain becoming the captain of the new team. This is done progressively until all the fighters are on one of two teams. In any round with an odd number of teams the least skilled team is split between the other teams in a fashion to balance the skill levels. The final two teams battle it off’ the captain of the winning team then becomes the Warlord. Note that this does not necessarily mean that the captain survives the battle. For this particular list, some modification was needed. With 10 fighters, an odd number of teams would have been set for the second round of fighting. There was no way to determine a worst team. Thus we set the first three rounds as single combat, choosing the top five fighters as the captains of the teams. This left again an odd number of teams. We then set up the next three rounds as two man teams combats. The teams were then ranked by how well the captains did in the first three rounds and how well the teams did in the next three rounds. The worst team was split up between the 3rd and 4th ranked teams. Then the 1st and 4th ranked teams fought, creating a 5 member team (same with the 2nd and 3rd ranked teams). This left two teams of 5 members each going into the final round. I only recommend doing a Warlords list with a multiple of 4 fighters.
